Center Theatre Group (CTG) is a nonprofit theater company in the Los Angeles area and is one of the largest and most influential nonprofit theater organizations in the nation. The company owns and operates three theaters — The Ahmanson Theatre and Mark Taper Forum in DTLA’s Music Center and The Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City, where they produce everything from world premieres to national tours. Center Theatre Group also has Educational and Community Partnership programming to provide resources, events, and training to artists, emerging playwrights, students, and Los Angeles residents.

The Associate Content Director oversees video, social media, and editorial content creation under the institution’s Communications Director and supervises the department’s associate.

• Writes and edits the company’s physical and digital Performances Magazine with a monthly circulation of 50,000 for each production at the company’s three theaters in Chicago Style.

The Executive Editors are the top student leadership positions in the newsroom. As one of the two Executive Editors, I led the newsroom on a day-to-day basis and supported the various sections and leaders throughout the year.

  • Managed the day-to-day cross-platform operations of an award-winning student newsroom of 473 journalists with 20 digital sections, five social media channels, and daily TV and radio broadcasts.

  • Created and implemented a formal editorial review process for certain sources to be deindexed from our previous coverage.

  • Responsible for the publication’s editorial decisions, with support from faculty and professional coaches.

  • Oversaw the hiring process of student leaders.

  • Trained editors, producers, and contributors on video and audio editing software, CMS, and best reporting practices.

  • Used Mailchimp to send out the internal newsletter each week.

  • Revised and updates the publication’s style and editorial guidance for consistency, accuracy, and empathy.

  • Held weekly meetings with editors and leaders to workflow and troubleshoot issues throughout the week.

USC Annenberg Media is an award-winning, student-run newsroom at the University of Southern California. The newsroom currently has 473 journalists, editors and staff who work with 20 sections including health and wellness, esports, politics and arts, culture & entertainment. It also houses live shows through Annenberg Radio News and Annenberg TV News. The publication can also be found on Twitter (5.3K), Instagram (4.8K), Facebook (51K), YouTube (12.2K), Snapchat (100k for our Latinx section Dímelo) and WeChat and sends out weekly email blasts.
